EMURGO Labs, a full-stack innovation agency with deep blockchain expertise and a contributor to the Cardano ecosystem, and the Arab Blockchain Center (ABC), a regional hub advancing blockchain education, research, and ecosystem growth across the Arab world, have signed an MoU to collaborate on advancing blockchain education, applied research, and ecosystem development across the Arab region.
The partnership brings together EMURGO Labs’ expertise in blockchain engineering, investment, and advisory with ABC’s role as a regional hub uniting academia, innovators, regulators, and researchers to foster blockchain knowledge and adoption.
Under the MoU, both parties will co-develop and deliver a three-tier education and skills development program consisting of blockchain foundations, Cardano Specialization, and Use Cases and Case Studies.
The program will include a dedicated Program Coursebook, train-the-trainer sessions, faculty workshops, and undergraduate and graduate-level modules. In addition, the collaboration will extend to internships, capstone projects, and ecosystem events such as hackathons, workshops, and town halls to strengthen the regional blockchain talent pipeline.
The partnership also includes joint exploration of blockchain integration into business processes, rapid prototyping, and proof-of-concept initiatives. EMURGO Labs will provide technical expertise, market access, and go-to-market strategies, while ABC will drive program delivery and community engagement.
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AAST) has also signaled its intent to provide matching contributions to support program activities, including case studies, on-campus coding hackathons, and related workshops.
Ahmed M. Amer, CEO of EMURGO Labs, said: “This collaboration with the Arab Blockchain Center is a milestone in expanding blockchain adoption and education across the Arab world. By aligning technical expertise with academic and community engagement, we are creating a sustainable pipeline for innovation and real-world use cases on Cardano and beyond.”
Mohamed Abdou, CEO of the Arab Blockchain Center, added: “Our mission at ABC has always been to unite stakeholders and drive blockchain forward through education and research. Partnering with EMURGO Labs allows us to bring global expertise into the Arab region, empowering students, innovators, and enterprises to build meaningful blockchain solutions.”
This MoU reflects both organizations’ commitment to fostering blockchain adoption, supporting regional talent, and positioning the Arab world as a growing hub for blockchain innovation.
